DueGuard Privacy Policy
DueGuard (“the App”) is an Android app designed to help users manage important deadlines such as free trial end dates, subscription renewals, reservation cancellation deadlines, return and refund windows, pass expirations, coupon expirations, membership renewals, warranties, and other time-sensitive items.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App processes, how that information is used, and how users can manage their data.
1. Information We Process
1.1 Information You Enter Into the App
When you create or edit a deadline item, the App may store the following information locally on your device:
- Deadline item title
- Deadline type or category, such as trial, subscription, reservation, return/refund, coupon, pass, membership, warranty, or other
- Deadline date and optional time
- Reminder settings
- Status information, such as active, done, cancelled, used, returned, renewed, expired, or archived
- Amount and currency code
- Provider or store name
- Reference URL
- Location name
- Description, note, and other information you choose to enter
This information is entered by you and is used to provide the App’s deadline tracking and reminder features. DueGuard does not upload this information to a developer-operated server or link it to a user account.
1.2 App Settings
The App may store the following settings locally on your device:
- Selected app language
- Default reminder timing
- Default currency code
- Whether expired items should be shown on the Home screen
- Notification permission guidance state
- First launch or onboarding-related settings, if applicable
1.3 Notification-Related Information
The App uses Android notification and alarm features to remind you about deadlines you create. To schedule reminders, the App may process information such as the deadline item title, deadline date, reminder timing, category, and action type locally on your device.
On Android 13 and later, the App requires notification permission to display reminders. If you deny notification permission, you can still use the App’s basic deadline management features, but reminder notifications may not be displayed.
1.4 Advertising-Related Information
The App may display ads through Google AdMob. When ads are shown, Google and its partners may process certain information such as device information, advertising identifiers, approximate location, app interaction data, diagnostics, and other information for advertising, measurement, security, fraud prevention, and service improvement.
Advertising-related data processing is governed by Google’s policies and your device settings. You may be able to reset your advertising ID or adjust personalized advertising settings through your Android device settings or Google account settings.
2. How We Use Information
The App uses information for the following purposes:
- To save and display deadline items you create
- To help you manage expiration dates, cancellation deadlines, refund windows, coupon expirations, renewals, and similar deadlines
- To schedule and display reminder notifications
- To manage deadline item status and history within the App
- To store app preferences such as language, default reminder timing, and default currency
- To provide, maintain, and improve the App’s core functionality
- To display ads and support advertising-related measurement and security through third-party services such as Google AdMob
3. Where Information Is Stored
Deadline items and app settings are stored locally on your device by default. DueGuard does not require account registration, login, cloud sync, or developer-operated server storage for its core features.
Information processed by third-party services such as Google AdMob may be processed on systems operated by those third parties, according to their own privacy policies and terms.
4. Information Sharing
The developer does not sell or upload your locally stored deadline records, notes, amounts, provider names, URLs, or similar personal app records to a developer-operated server.
However, when Google AdMob ads are displayed, Google and its partners may process information necessary for ad delivery, measurement, security, and fraud prevention. Such processing is governed by Google’s privacy policy and advertising policies.
5. Third-Party Services
The App may use the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob for displaying ads, measuring ad performance, fraud prevention, and related services
- Google Play services or Android system services for app compatibility, notifications, advertising support, and related platform functionality
Third-party services process data according to their own privacy policies and terms. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any third-party services used by the App.
6. Permissions
The App may request or use the following permissions:
- Notification permission: Used to display reminders for deadlines you create.
- Receive boot completed permission: Used to reschedule future reminders after the device restarts.
- Internet and network state permissions: May be used to load ads and check network availability.
The App does not require GPS location permission, contacts access, camera access, microphone access, or broad file access for its core deadline tracking features.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Deadline items and settings remain on your device until you delete them, clear the App’s data, or uninstall the App.
You can delete your data by:
- Deleting individual deadline items inside the App
- Clearing the App’s data through Android system settings
- Uninstalling the App
Data processed by Google or other third-party services is managed according to those services’ policies and your Google account or Android device settings.
8. Security
DueGuard is designed to keep your deadline records local to your device by default. The App avoids unnecessary transmission of the deadline information you enter.
However, no method of storage or processing is completely secure. Your device security settings, operating system version, backup settings, installed apps, and third-party service behavior may affect the protection of your information.
We recommend keeping your device secured with a screen lock, using trusted apps, and keeping your operating system up to date.
9. Children’s Privacy
DueGuard is not directed to children under the age of 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child’s personal information has been processed inappropriately, please contact us using the email address below.
10. International Users and Regional Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights related to your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing.
Because DueGuard stores deadline records locally by default and does not operate a user account system, most deletion requests can be handled directly on your device by deleting individual items, clearing app data, or uninstalling the App.
For questions about privacy or data processing, you may contact us using the email address below.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time due to changes in App functionality, advertising services, legal requirements, or Google Play policies.
If important changes are made, we may notify users through the App, the store listing, or an updated version of this page. The updated Privacy Policy will apply from the effective date shown on this page.
