Privacy Policy for FocusFlow
Effective Date: April 28, 2026
FocusFlow (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a study and focus timer app designed to help users create focus routines, run timers, and review their focus sessions.
This Privacy Policy explains what information FocusFlow collects, how it is used, and what choices users have.
1. Information We Collect
FocusFlow may collect or store the following types of information.
1.1 Information Stored Locally on Your Device
FocusFlow stores certain app data locally on your device to provide core app features.
This may include:
- Selected focus goal types
- Custom goal text entered by the user
- Timer routines
- Focus session history
- Focus scores
- Completion status
- Distraction tags selected by the user
- Memo text entered by the user
- App settings
- Recent routines
- Basic usage statistics inside the app
This information is stored on your device and is used to operate the app’s focus timer, session review, and statistics features.
At the current MVP stage, FocusFlow does not operate its own server account system and does not intentionally upload your focus session records to our own server.
1.2 Advertising Data
FocusFlow uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.
Google AdMob and its partners may collect and process certain information from your device to provide ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and improve advertising services.
This may include:
- Device information
- Advertising ID
- App interaction data
- Approximate location information
- Diagnostic information
- Information used to deliver and measure advertisements
AdMob data collection and use are governed by Google’s own policies.
You can learn more about how Google uses data here:

2. How We Use Information
FocusFlow uses information for the following purposes:
- To provide focus timer functionality
- To generate recommended focus routines
- To save session records locally
- To show focus statistics
- To remember app settings
- To display advertisements through Google AdMob
- To improve app stability and user experience
- To prevent abuse, fraud, or technical issues related to advertising
3. Natural Language Input
FocusFlow may allow users to enter goals using natural language, such as:
“I want to memorize 80 English words for one hour even though I feel tired.”
The app may process this text to detect:
- Goal type
- Duration
- Condition
- Urgency
- Workload
- Subject
At the current MVP stage, this natural language processing is performed locally using rule-based logic.
Users should avoid entering sensitive personal information into goal text or memo fields.
4. Third-Party Services
FocusFlow may use the following third-party services.
4.1 Google AdMob
FocusFlow uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.
Google AdMob may collect and process data as described in Google’s policies.

5. Advertising and Consent
FocusFlow may show banner advertisements.
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we may request consent where required for:
- Use of cookies or similar local storage
- Collection, sharing, and use of personal data for advertising
- Personalized ads
Users may be able to manage advertising consent through the consent form shown in the app, where applicable.
If a user does not consent to personalized ads, the app may show non-personalized ads where supported.
6. Data Sharing
FocusFlow does not sell your personal information.
FocusFlow may share certain data with third-party service providers only as necessary to operate app features, especially advertising through Google AdMob.
We do not share locally stored focus records, memos, or session history with our own server at the current MVP stage.
However, advertising-related data may be collected or processed by Google AdMob and its partners according to their own policies.
7. Data Retention
FocusFlow stores local app data on your device until:
- You delete the app
- You clear app data
- You use an in-app data reset feature, if available
Advertising-related data retention is managed by Google and its advertising partners according to their own policies.
8. User Choices
Users may be able to:
- Delete local app data by clearing app storage or deleting the app
- Reset app data through the app settings, if this feature is available
- Manage advertising preferences through device settings
- Manage consent choices where a consent form is shown
- Disable personalized ads through Google or device-level advertising settings where available
On Android, users may be able to reset or delete their Advertising ID through device privacy settings.
9. Children’s Privacy
FocusFlow is not specifically directed to children under the age required by applicable law.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
If the app is later targeted toward children or students under age restrictions, this Privacy Policy and advertising configuration must be updated accordingly.
10. International Users
FocusFlow may be used by users in different countries.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have additional privacy rights under applicable data protection laws, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data.
Because the current MVP stores focus records locally on your device and does not operate a user account server, many data deletion actions can be performed by deleting the app or clearing app data.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect app data.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. Users should avoid entering highly sensitive personal information into goal text or memo fields.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we update the policy, we will revise the “Effective Date” at the top of this page.
Continued use of FocusFlow after changes means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
